What You Need to Report a Mobile Home Claim
If you've suffered a loss to your mobile home before, you already know that recovering isn't always easy. It can be devastating, emotionally draining and a lot to process at once – especially if you're facing a total loss. But, the best thing to do is move forward and begin the steps to restore your home.
If you ever need to report a claim as a customer of the AARP Mobile Home Insurance Program from Foremost, take a deep breath and try not to feel too overwhelmed. The Foremost® Claim Department is an award-winning team of insurance professionals who are there when you need them, 24 hours a day, seven days a week. To report a claim, call 1-800-752-2461, or report it online.
As you begin the process, know that you'll need this information:
- Name and address
- Policy number
- The date of the loss
- A description of what happened
- A telephone number where we can contact you
It will also help if you have pictures or a video of all your items, explaining what they are and how long you've had them. Also, have a list of any expensive electronics, appliances and furniture you own (along with receipts). Provide receipts from any home upgrades as well.
After reporting the claim, you should hear from a claim professional within 24 hours to get the facts surrounding your loss. The claim rep will review your coverage and explain how the claim will be handled. They will also identity ways to protect your property from further damage and schedule an in-person appointment if needed. To find out what your coverage is beforehand, your policy declarations page has all of that information, including your policy limits, deductibles and type of settlement you selected.
If you experience severe damage to your home after a natural disaster, do not return to your home until officials give the okay to do so. Before entering your home, always inspect it to make sure it is safe! And remember, do not remove any damaged items or structures from your property until you speak to your insurance company so they can assess the damage.
