Get In On Americade – No Matter Where You Are
Boasting the most demos of any bike show in the U.S. and the best roads in the East, Americade 2018 occupies scenic Lake George, New York, June 4 – 9. Foremost can’t wait to welcome you as the title sponsor of the AmericadeS® Expo. Be sure to stop by the Foremost booth for a shot at some sweet swag. If you can’t make it this year, you can catch all the action on the Facebook page for the AARP® Motorcycle Insurance Program from Foremost.
This year’s rally is packed with activities, including six guided rides and several others you can do on your own. The most popular of the guided rides is a 150-mile round trip called ‘The Spoiler.’ It’s aptly named, both for the ride and for the amenities. Winding its way through New York’s Adirondacks and into the Green Mountains of Vermont, the route includes quaint villages along meandering river valleys. The morning stop features a vintage ’50s gas station with uniformed attendants and, even better, a collection of classic motorcycles and cars. Lunch is at one of the top 10 hotels in the U.S., a mountaintop haven formerly used by a movie studio as a retreat for their stars.
A chance to check out the new bikes
The demos offer an opportunity to take a test spin on the bikes and trikes you’ve been fantasizing about. Experts are on hand to answer any questions you may have. Organizers note that the demos fill up fast, so it’s best to reserve early. The reserved rides are pay-to-play and may be a great investment if you’re seriously considering buying one of the available bikes. Public access to the demo models opens up later in the day for a limited time and there are no guarantees.
Don’t forget about the old bikes
Foremost is also the proud sponsor of the Vintage Garage display in the Fort William Henry Demo Area. You’ll be able to see some of the classic model bikes from the 1920s through the 1970s. It’s an amazing collection of the styling and technology of earlier motorcycling eras, going all the way back to the hottest bikes from great granddad’s youth. If you want to hear something cool, stop by at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday, June 7 when they’ll fire up the bikes for a vintage roar!
So many things to do
Other events include dinner boat cruises, barbeques, dinners and parties. If you want to expand your motorcycling skills, there’s also Americade University which offers a number of seminars covering dozens of topics related to making the most of your favorite way to spend time on your bike. The presenters include professionals from across the motorcycle industry who will offer tips on how to be a better biker, as well as answer your motorcycling questions. These seminars and other daily clinics are free to all registered rallyists. Topics cover everything from bike maintenance to travel.
