Summer’s warm weather often means more riders are out on the road. At Foremost, we have several additional coverages that may become a benefit for riders hitting the open road and for those commuting to work. The coverages listed below are optional ones you can add to your policy if you don’t already have them.
If your motorcycle breaks down during your ride, one call to Foremost’s Towing and Roadside Assistance line will bring help to transport your motorcycle to the nearest qualified service facility. Plus, Foremost will reimburse you for the labor costs incurred at the scene of the disablement for things like a battery boost, refueling gas, oil or water, and services provided by a professional locksmith.
As a component of Towing and Roadside Assistance, this coverage applies when your vehicle is disabled in a covered loss that occurs more than 100 miles from your home (Includes events resulting from theft, larceny, contact with an animal, or a collision). Foremost reimburses up to $500 per occurrence for expenses such as lodging, meals and transportation while you’re away from home. This coverage applies up to four days after the loss.
If your motorcycle is deemed a ‘total loss’ within the first 24 months following the date of purchase, Foremost will contact any dealership of your choice and pay their current retail price for your replacement motorcycle (Foremost’s payment will not exceed 110% of your original purchase price).
You must agree to replace your motorcycle for this coverage to apply. Also, there are three additional requirements for this coverage:
Foremost can also provide coverage for all those shiny custom additions you add to your motorcycle. When you purchase collision coverage, your policy automatically includes coverage for optional equipment up to $3,500. However, you can also purchase additional coverage to bump that limit up to $15,000 or more, depending on the state where you reside.
Optional equipment includes any trailer that is designed to be pulled by a motorcycle, or any parts, decorations, custom painting, chroming, sidecar, or other item on your motorcycle that was not originally provided by the manufacturer as standard equipment. Foremost will pay up to the limit shown on your Declarations Page for direct, sudden and accidental loss to these items, minus your applicable deductible.
Think about your riding style, your bike and the trips you’re planning to see if these coverages would be beneficial to you. To add any of them to your policy, or to review your current coverage, please call Foremost at 1-800-752-2461 and one of our agents will be happy to speak with you.
